Terms of Use
These terms are between you and Dogs in Boots, LLC (“we”, “us”), the maker of Ollita. Ollita is licensed to you under Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”), at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. The terms below add to it; if they conflict, the Standard EULA wins. By using Ollita, you agree to both, and Ollita’s subscription screen says so too: by subscribing to Ollita Pro, you agree to these terms. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
In short
- Ollita shows your first planned week’s meals and estimated total for free. Everything else in it, and planning every week after it, needs Ollita Pro.
- Ollita Pro Yearly, Monthly and Weekly renew automatically. Yearly starts with a 7-day free trial, and Apple charges you when it ends. To stop one, cancel in your Apple Account settings at least 24 hours before it renews.
- Prices in Ollita are estimates, shown as a range. What you pay at the store can be different.
- Allergy and diet settings leave ingredients out of your plan, but products vary: always check labels. Ollita isn’t medical or nutrition advice.
- Ollita isn’t affiliated with any store it names.
1. What you get without Ollita Pro
- Your first planned week’s meals and estimated total, on the Week tab. Your settings, your account, restoring a purchase and deleting your account also stay open.
- Recipes, cook mode, the list, the pantry, swaps and planning any other week need Ollita Pro. If your subscription ends, what you saved stays in your account and comes back if you subscribe again, unless you delete your account.
2. Ollita Pro
Ollita Pro plans a new week every week, around your household, your diets and your budget, with an estimate for your store. The subscription screen in Ollita shows what Ollita Pro includes and what it costs before you buy.
Plans and prices
- Ollita Pro Yearly: US$39.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial.
- Ollita Pro Monthly: US$9.99 a month, with no trial.
- Ollita Pro Weekly: US$4.99 a week, with no trial.
In Canada, Mexico and elsewhere, the App Store shows the price in your currency before you buy. Taxes may apply.
Payment and automatic renewal
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm your purchase. If you start the free trial, Apple offers it through the App Store, and your Apple Account is charged when the 7 days end, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Apple decides who can start a trial.
- Yearly, Monthly and Weekly renew automatically for the same length of time, at the then-current price, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Apple charges the renewal within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If the price goes up, Apple tells you before it applies and, where required, asks you to agree.
Cancelling
- Cancel anytime in your iPhone’s Settings › your name › Subscriptions › Ollita, or in Ollita under Settings › Subscription › Manage subscription.
- To avoid the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before your subscription renews. After you cancel, Ollita Pro stays on until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Deleting Ollita, or your Ollita account, doesn’t cancel your subscription.
Refunds
Apple processes App Store payments and refunds: you can ask Apple for a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. This doesn’t limit your rights under consumer law. If Ollita Pro has a major problem, you may be entitled to a refund or another remedy where you live: email ollita@nookpages.com and we’ll help.
Restoring and Family Sharing
To use Ollita Pro on more than one iPhone, sign in to the same Ollita account on each. If Pro isn’t showing, open Settings › Subscription › Restore purchases while signed in to the Apple Account you paid with. Restoring on an iPhone that isn’t signed in to that Ollita account moves Ollita Pro to it, away from your other iPhone.
Ollita Pro works with Apple Family Sharing: if the person who subscribes shares purchases with their family, family members get Ollita Pro on their own iPhones too. Each person keeps their own plan; Ollita doesn’t share plans or lists between accounts.
3. Prices are estimates
- Ollita estimates what your list will cost by whole packs, from public price data (the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the USDA in the United States, Statistics Canada in Canada, PROFECO in Mexico) and prices people check on stores’ websites, adjusted for your region, your store chain and, if you tell it, what you paid before. Settings › How we price this explains how.
- An estimate isn’t a quote or an offer. Stores set their own prices, which change with sales, brands, places and time, so what you pay can be outside the range Ollita shows. Some items may have no price yet; Ollita says so and leaves them out of the total instead of counting them as free.
- Ollita plans toward your budget, but it can’t promise that your shopping will cost less than it.
- Ollita isn’t affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any store, chain or brand it names. Store names are used only to say which prices an estimate is for.
4. Recipes, allergies and food safety
- Ollita’s recipes are our own. They’re written with the help of AI, then checked: by code for ingredients, amounts, allergens and safe cooking temperatures, and by a second review for taste and clarity.
- Your allergy, diet and exclusion settings leave out the ingredients our data says contain them. But products and their labels vary, and our data can be wrong: always check the label of what you buy, and don’t rely on Ollita alone if you or someone you cook for has a serious allergy.
- Nutrition is approximate, calculated from public data. Ollita isn’t medical, dietary or nutrition advice; ask a professional about your health and diet.
- Cook food to safe temperatures, handle raw meat, eggs and fish with care, and supervise children in the kitchen. You’re responsible for how you shop, store and cook.
5. Other services
Where Ollita offers Shop on Instacart, it sends your list to Instacart only when you tap it, and Instacart’s website, terms and prices apply from there. We aren’t responsible for Instacart or for orders you place with it. Sharing your list sends it as text to the app and the people you choose.
6. Data and credits
- U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Average Price Data; USDA Economic Research Service, Fruit and Vegetable Prices; USDA Agricultural Research Service, FoodData Central (nutrition); U.S. Census Bureau (ZIP code regions).
- Adapted from Statistics Canada, Table 18-10-0245-01, Monthly average retail prices for selected products. This does not constitute an endorsement by Statistics Canada of this product.
- PROFECO, Quién es Quién en los Precios, datos.gob.mx, licensed under CC BY 4.0. Ollita computes medians by chain from it.
- Ollita’s headings use Newsreader, by Production Type, under the SIL Open Font License.
- Apart from these, Ollita’s content and software, its recipes included, are for your personal, non-commercial use.
7. Your account and your plan
- Ollita creates an account for you automatically, without your name or email, and saves your plan to it from your first change. Signing in with Apple or email lets you get it back on another iPhone; keep that Apple Account or email account secure.
- What you add (your own list items, your pantry, your ratings, what you paid) is yours. You give us only the permission we need to store it, sync it and show it to you.
- You can delete your account in Settings › Delete account. Our Privacy Policy explains what that deletes.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or harms Ollita or other people.
8. Using Ollita fairly
Please don’t use automated tools to access Ollita or its servers, copy its recipes or prices in bulk or resell them, try to get around the subscription (for example, with many accounts or devices), interfere with Ollita’s servers, or use Ollita to break the law or to harm, harass or deceive anyone.
9. Changes
Ollita will change over time: we may add, change or remove features, recipes, stores or price sources, or pause one while we fix a problem. If a change reduces what Ollita Pro includes, it takes effect at your next renewal, never in the middle of a period you’ve paid for, and we’ll tell you in Ollita before then. We may also update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we’ll let you know in Ollita or on this page before it takes effect. If you keep using Ollita after that, the new terms apply.
10. Your rights as a consumer
The Standard EULA’s disclaimers and limits of liability apply to Ollita to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer laws that can’t be excluded, such as Mexico’s Federal Consumer Protection Law or the consumer protection laws of your state or province. The Spanish version of these terms is a translation; if they differ, this English version applies, unless your local law says otherwise.
